Post-accident drug testing collects a specimen from an employee as soon as possible following a workplace accident, injury, or safety-sensitive incident. Under DOT regulations (49 CFR Part 40), urine must be collected within 32 hours and alcohol within 8 hours of certain qualifying accidents. How quickly must a post-accident drug test be done?

What types of accidents trigger mandatory post-accident testing?

What if the employee can't provide a urine specimen?

If an employee genuinely cannot provide a specimen due to a medical condition (documented by a physician), the test may be cancelled. An attempt to avoid providing a specimen without a legitimate medical reason is treated as a refusal, which counts as a positive result.

Does SafeTouch offer mobile collection for post-accident testing?

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance to reschedule without a fee. Cancellations or reschedules made within 48 hours of the appointment are subject to a rescheduling fee. No-shows (no call, no appearance) require rebooking before a new appointment can be confirmed. We do not offer refunds on completed tests or services.
