What is an MRO and what role do they play?

A Medical Review Officer (MRO) is a licensed physician trained in substance abuse disorders and DOT drug testing regulations. The MRO reviews all non-negative laboratory results, contacts the employee to verify any legitimate prescription medications, and then issues the final verified result to the employer's Designated Employer Representative (DER).

What happens if a DOT test comes back positive?

After the MRO verifies a positive result, the employer's DER must immediately remove the employee from safety-sensitive duties. The employee must then complete a SAP evaluation, follow the recommended treatment plan, pass a return-to-duty test, and complete a follow-up testing program before returning to work.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance to reschedule without a fee. Cancellations or reschedules made within 48 hours of the appointment are subject to a rescheduling fee. No-shows (no call, no appearance) require rebooking before a new appointment can be confirmed. We do not offer refunds on completed tests or services.
